The Muranga County Declaration

The Muranga County Declaration is a step in the right direction, but this goes only as far as Adopting certain key strategic development measures, details of which are in the public domain, is concerned.
However, the declaration that the 'people' of Muranga will adopt PNU Alliance as their political vehicle of choice is not only undermining Multiparty democracy, but also a denial to the people of Muranga of their democratic right to elect the leadership of their choice, from a party or parties of their choice.
I am tempted to look at it as a means of shutting out those who either don't subscribe to Uhuru's ideology, and don't support his presidency, and/or those who would like to vie for leadership opportunities in the county not necessarily on a certain party ticket. It is a rather sad effort aimed at closing out good leadership for the sake of advancement of selfish goals.
The attendants in the so called 'Muranga Declaration' should have spoken for and on their own behalf and not for the people of Muranga. The people of Muranga, I assume, are able to speak for themselves.I hope they will be wise enough to make individual choices free from selfish influence.
